WALLPAPER* MONO TONES
Mono Tones , Novembery 2024 Wallpaper*
On a recent visit to Fox Brothers & Co, the oldest woollen mill in the UK, I was told that it was Thomas Fox who invented flannel in 1772 and that grey was one of the first shades produced. Its merino wool grey flannel is still produced for top tailors and leading menswear houses today. It led me to create this imaginary apartment, with walls upholstered in wool and cashmere flannel by Loro Piana Interiors. It’s part Halston’s Paul Rudolph-designed Manhattan townhouse, part Geoffrey Beene’s Grey Flannel fragrance ad, and part Anouska Hempel’s design for Blakes Hotel in London.
